A72 year old man was on Thursday night shot dead by unknown assailant at his residence in Bungu cell, Kalongo town council, in Agago district
Ongom David was shot dead at around 9:30pm after he had stepped out of his house to ease himself.
The gunman also robbed a resident identified as Joseph Opiyo of his smartphone and money and 10 liters of waragi from a woman identified as Christine Acen.
Joe Oloya, the acting Aswa East regional police spokesperson, confirmed the report saying police are hunting for the suspect.
According to the police crime report 2023, Aswa region registered 218 cases of murder.
