Package on Bullying

Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. This is according to a definition provided by the American Psychological Association. Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words, or more subtle actions.

The bullied individual typically has trouble defending him or herself and does nothing to “cause” the bullying. Of late, bullying has become rampant in Ugandan schools.

Hundreds of children and young adults are being picked by bullies, insulted, attacked and demoralized. Some bullies use derogatory names against their victims. In this radio feature, Ivan Tolit will bring to you a report on the effects of bullying on our mental health.
