The National Resistance Movement has banned the flagbearers from leading parish mobilisation meetings for campaigns of President Yoweri Museveni.
The National Resistance Movement intends to deploy leaders from the Central Executive Committee, Secretariat and District Executive Committee to hunt for votes for President Yoweri Museveni at parish level.
The leaders will hold parish meetings consisting 63 Leaders from each Village comprising the 30 NRM Village Committee, the 9 Local Committee Members, the 9 Village Youth Council Flagbearers, the 5 Village Women Council Flagbearers, 5 Village Older Persons Council Flag Bearers, and 5 Village PWDs Council Flag Bearers for a meeting.
The members will receive campaign messages and guidelines from President Yoweri Museveni for further dissemination.
The meetings will also constitute an army of “foot soldiers” to campaign for Museveni door to door across villages.
According to the circular dated 28th November, 2026 issued by Richard Todwong the NRM Secretary General, the Parish Meetings will start next week on 4th Dec till 6th January, 2002 but with breaks on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Todwong said that only the District Executive Committee flanked by centre nominated leaders shall preside over the meetings.
