Traffic flow has resumed on the Kamdini-Karuma section after emergency repairs following a road collapse caused by heavy rains.

Last month, The Ministry of Works and Transport suspended traffic on the road after a damage to a section due to the heavy rains.

During the closure, motorists were advised to divert via Karuma-Olwiyo-Anaka route from Kampala to Gulu.

The ministry then embarked on working on a detour, which has since been completed.

A statement by the Ministry of works on its social media platform said traffic will resume today for light vehicles including buses, medium trucks, vans and saloon cars while all heavy trucks will continue using the divert through Karuma-Olwiyo-Anaka route from Kampala to Gulu and vice versa until further notice. The Ministry also advised drivers to drive at 30km per hour, especially on the section of road where the detour has been constructed.
