The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has adjusted the January Transfer window in Uganda for 2025/2026 to February 2026.
According to FUFA , the adjustment from the previous known secondary window (January of ever year) was made due to Uganda’s participation in the CHAN 2024 and the African Cup of Nations 2025, hence the need to ensure proper alignment between national team activities and the FUFA Competition.
Ahmed Hussein, the Communications Director FUFA, has confirmed the development urging all the football clubs to plan and complete their transfer business within the revised registration period.
A transfer window in sports, especially soccer, is a specific time of year when professional clubs are allowed to buy, sell, and loan players to other clubs, functioning like a designated “shopping period” to build or adjust their squads before the season starts or during mid-season breaks.
There are typically two windows: a longer summer window (June-August) for major squad overhauls and a shorter winter window (January) for last-minute additions or sales, with specific dates set by each football association, creating intense activity and speculation, especially around deadline day.
