Northern Uganda Tractor Operators and Farmers Association-NUTOFA has secured three tractors and its assorted implements to support mechanization of agriculture for members in Nwoya district.
The tractors were handed over to the Northern Uganda Tractor Operators and Farmers Association-NUTOFA Nwoya chapter on Thursday 25th June at the association`s offices in Anaka town council, Nwoya district.
Robert Okok Acac, the Chairperson of the association, says the tractors will be used to boost mechanization of agriculture as well as increasing production.
Okok said that members of the association will hire the tractor at UGX 80,000 per acre while non-members will pay between UGX 100,000 and 120,000 per acre.
NUTOFA Nwoya chapter has a total of 486 members, with 136 farmer groups and seven cooperative unions.
