The Uganda Wildlife Authority-UWA has translocated 3 Nubian giraffes to Ajai Wildlife Reserve. They were translocated from Murchison Falls National Park on Tuesday 21st July this year.
Bashir Hanji, Assistant Commissioner Communications at the Uganda Wildlife Authority-UWA confirmed the development saying the translocation exercise is an effort to boost the species’ population, enhance biodiversity, and diversify tourism opportunities. According to Hanji, the giraffes is an addition to the reserve’s growing wildlife population that includes rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, and other herbivores.
Earlier this year, UWA translocated and reintroduced white rhinos to Ajai Wildlife Reserve.
