Omoro Honours Development Partners for Outstanding Service Delivery

Omoro District Local Government on Thursday honoured six development partners for their outstanding contribution to improving the lives of communities across the district. They include;

Texans and Ugandans on Mission

This a faith-based, humanitarian non-profit organization operating as the local Ugandan ministry extension of the U.S.-based organization Texans on Mission.

It has been in the district for the last five years supporting Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes through the drilling and rehabilitation of boreholes, as well as the promotion of sanitation and hygiene.

World Vision

It is a global Christian humanitarian organization working to fight poverty, provide emergency relief, and support community development. It has been in the district for over decades of promoting child welfare and development.

Suubi Foundation Canada

It was recognized for supporting education through infrastructure development and other initiatives. It has been in the district for over two decades.

Love One International

A Christian non-profit organization that provides life-saving medical care, rehabilitation, and family preservation support to critically ill and malnourished children in remote regions of Uganda. It honored for its work in addressing child malnutrition through community structures and health facilities,

Volunteer Action Network (VAC-Net),

It was recognized for advancing gender equality, combating gender-based violence and promoting access to human rights

Save the Children

Was acknowledged for its long-standing support to education, health and community development programmes.

Donato Oola, the Omoro District Chief Administrative Officer, thanked the development partners for their continued support, saying the district would not have achieved its current level of development without their contribution.
