The Northern Uganda Boxing Association has received a new boxing ring worth over UGX 8 million shillings from the Uganda Boxing Federation, UBF.
The ring was handed over during the recently concluded 2026 Northern Region Novice Boxing Championship held at Gulu Community Park in Gulu City.
The equipment is expected to improve the association’s ability to organize and host boxing competitions in the region, while also creating better opportunities for young boxers.
Speaking to Mega FM after the handover, Northern Uganda Boxing Association Chairperson Denish Mulindra said the region has lacked such equipment for several years.
Mulindra said the new ring will help attract more players into boxing and promote the sport across the Northern Uganda.
The Northern Uganda Boxing Association has thanked the Uganda Boxing Federation for the support and effects to develop boxing in Uganda.
UBF is conducting Novice Boxing Championships in different parts of the country.
