10 young boxers from Northern Uganda have been awarded fully paid school fees for the opening of the third term 2026 following their outstanding performance at the Back-To-School Inter-Club Boxing Championship.
The championship was hosted at the home ground of the Gulu City Youth Boxing Organization Limited over the weekend in Gulu city.
The championship brought together five boxing clubs from Northern Uganda, including Gulu City Boxing Club, Awere Boxing Club from Pader, Young Lions Boxing Club from Omoro, Anaka Boxing Club from Nwoya, and Kwania Boxing Club from Kwania District.
Gulu City Boxing Club produced five beneficiaries, Awere Boxing Club two, Anaka Boxing Club two, and Kwania Boxing Club one beneficiary.
The championship was organized by Gulu City Youth Boxing Organization Limited in collaboration with the Northern Uganda Boxing Union and Friends of Boxing.
Kidega Dragon, the Director and Coach at Gulu City Youth Boxing Organization Limited, said the scholarship were offered by Friends of Boxing, a non-profit organization that uses the discipline and mentorship of boxing to transform at-risk youth and elevate professional athletic standards.
