Two incumbent LCV Chairpersons in Acholi sub region have been defeated in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries for Local Council Five (LCV) chairpersons.
They include Orach Emmanuel, the incumbent LCV Chairperson for Nwoya district and his counterpart of Pader district Colonial Fearless Obwoya.
Orach lost to Patrick Okello Oryema, the former district chairperson, who recently defected from the opposition Forum for Democratic (FDC) party. Orach garnered 2,691 votes (27.9%) against Oryema who pulled 3,755 votes (39%).
Others are Okello Tony, the district speaker who got 1,863 votes (27.8%), Komakech F. Innocent secured 1,291 votes (13.4%) and Atare Richard (11votes).
Meanwhile Colonial Fearless Obwoya lost to Akena Alfred, the former Pader District LCV Chairperson, who got 15,637 votes.
Obwoya finished third with 11,803 votes after Oringa Largo Godfrey, also the former Pader District LCV Chairperson, who got 12,021 votes.
In Lamwo district, the incumbent chairperson Oyet Sisto Ocen retained the party flag after garnering 15,900 votes. His only rival Amone Jimmy got 15,053 votes.
Toolit Tony Blair, the incumbent LCV chairperson for Kitgum district, also retained the party flag after garnering 16,780 votes.
Onencan Fred Acellam came second with 6,975 votes, Oryema Emmanuel Langabi third with 6,447 votes, Nyeko Luka (4,042 votes) and Odong Samuel Attocon (2, 294 votes).
For Gulu district, the incumbent LCV chairperson Opio Christopher Ateker retained the party flag after garnering 5,178 votes. Atim Betty came second with 3,661 votes while Oyet Kenneth Odong is third with 2,874 votes.
For Amuru district, Odongkara Christopher was declared the winner with 7,116 votes. Ocan George came second with 4,370 and third is Atwom Denis got 3,817 votes.
In Gulu City, Aber Gifter has been declared the party flag bearer for the Laroo-Pece Division Mayoral seat. Aber emerged the winner with 5,993 votes (88.496%) beating her only rival Omaya Patrick who got 779 votes (11.503%).
For the Bardege-Layibi Division Mayoral seat, Okello Patrick, commonly known as sukari, emerged the winner with 3,017 votes (71.442%), Komakech Robert came second with 730 votes while Oluba Alfred is third with 476 votes.
Okwonga Alfred, the incumbent Gulu City Mayor is unopposed for the position of the Gulu City Mayoral seat.
