Former Uganda Ambassador to by then Zaire now the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), David Mwaka, has died, aged 79.
The former diplomate passed on Tuesday at around 5pm from Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala, where he had been battling unknown illness for nearly a month, according to his eldest son, Mwaka Stephen.
Although he retired from public service, the former diplomat was among the few who quickly returned to the war-torn region and embraced commercial farming.
Mwaka will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Abuga Sub- County, Omoro District, on a date yet to be communicated.
