Residents of Amalac Village in Abuga Parish, Abuga Sub-county, Omoro District early this morning around 3AM set a tricycle, locally known as a tuk-tuk, on fire after it was allegedly found transporting two suspected stolen cows.
The cows are suspected to have been stolen from Oluba Village in Olabo Parish, Ongako Sub-county, also in Omoro District.
According to Michael Opira, the area Local Council One Chairperson, he was alerted after residents intercepted a tuk-tuk carrying the two cows.
He said the rider of the tricycle, registration number UFS 850Z, reportedly fled the scene on foot, abandoning the Tuk-Tuk.
Opira said before authorities could intervene, the angry crowd had already set the tuk-tuk ablaze.
Moses Enyentu the In Charge of Abuga Police Station confirmed the report saying police have recovered the two cows together with the burnt tricycle.

At least 10 cattle have been stolen from the village during the month of july, according to the authority.
