The current rain being experienced in most districts in Acholi sub-region is likely to last until the second week of July.

According to a seasonal rainfall outlook for the month of June, July and August, districts such as Gulu, Omoro, Nwoya and Amuru will experience enhanced or above normal rain until mid-June.

However, there will be low rainfall in Acholi sub-region after the second week of June.

The low rainfall will continue until mid-July when rain again will establish itself.

The weather experts have since warned that the high chance of enhanced or above normal rainfall will affect agricultural production and food security.

This is because farmers will suffer flash floods, shortage of pastures for animals and post-harvest handling losses.

Farmers has accordingly been advised to adopt modern agricultural technologies if they are to maximize farm production.
