President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairman who doubles as the party presidential flag bearer has advised the electorates against demanding too much from government saying he prefers implementing his manifestos in phases to the utmost quality and durability.
Mr Museveni resonated his mind today Tuesday after the NRM district party chairperson for Amuru Wilfred Baguma Odiya tabled before him a list of demands during his campaign rally in Pabbo Town Council, Amuru district.
According to the president, handling many projects at ago is the reason behind shoddy and poor quality works in the country since resources are shared in small quantity instead of channeling to one project at ago for quality and durability.
He said his first priority when he came to power was peace and security of which without it, no development can take place
He said his ongoing agenda is now prosperity for all which is being implemented alongside infrastructure development including constructions of roads and extension of electricity to spar development and increase household income.
The President says the government has already put in plans the tarmacking of a number of roads in the region including Awere-Amuru-Rhino camp road, Gulu-Awere-Moroto road and Palabek-Apyeta-Atiak road.
On the issue of cattle compensation, the President assured the people of Acholi who lost their livestock during the insurgency that it will be compensated through the government restocking program of which each household will get five cows.
The Mr. Museveni also promised to provide university scholarships to 100 students annually but only to those pursing science based courses.
