Unilever Donates Medical Equipment to Lacor Hospital

Unilever Uganda, a British Dutch multinational Consumer Goods company, has donated vital medical equipment and other health supplies worth UGX 118.7 million to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor to improve healthcare service delivery.

The donated items include CPAP machines, patient monitors, suction machines, hospital beds and oxygen cylinders with flowmeters, and personal protective equipment.

The equipment was delivered to the hospital on Friday by Ben Langat, Unilever’s General Manager for East and West Africa, during an official visit.

Treasure Anena, the Communications Officer at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor, told Mega FM that the support is expected to strengthen the hospital’s emergency and critical care services, as well as improve infection prevention and control efforts.

Dr Eminton Odong, the Medical Director of the hospital, expressed appreciation for the timely donation saying that the equipment will enhance service delivery and emphasized the importance of continued partnerships.

Established in 1959, St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor treats over 112,000 patients with various medical conditions each year.
