UPDF Commandos on Tuesday morning launched a surprised attack on three bases belonging to the elusive LRA rebel’s leader Joseph Kony inside the Central African Republic (CAR).
The army said in a statement posted on X formerly twitter that they captured weapons belonging to the Ugandan rebel force.
According to the UPDF, the attacks were carried out in the Sam Ouandja. The attacks were launched in condonation with troops from CAR and neighboring South Sudan.
The Ugandan army said the attacks were meant to hunt down for the remnant of the brutal force still hiding inside the CAR jungles. The army also destroyed the rebel group’s base.
The surprise attack comes just less than four months after Russian mercenaries reportedly launched a hunt for the brutal rebel force.
