UPDF Warns Against Bribery Ahead of Recruitment Exercise

The Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) has warned successful applicants for the forthcoming recruitment exercise against paying bribes to the officials at the recruitment centers.

According to the physical recruitment exercise road map, recruits from Acholi, Lango and West Nile sub regions will be undertaken between August 10-22.

Major Bilal Katamba, the UPDF 4th Infantry Division Spokesperson, urged applicants and their families not to pay any money or any form of inducement to individuals who claim they can influence the recruitment process.

Major Katamba who said that the recruitment will be transparent, fair and merit based, warned that any person who will be found paying or receiving bribes will face the law.

According to the recruitment road map, applicants from Gulu City, Gulu district and Omoro district will be recruited from Pece stadium on August 11 this year.

On August, 12th this year, applicants from Nwoya and Amuru will also undergo a physical recruitment exercise at Pece stadium.

Meanwhile successful applicants from Kitgum, and Lamwo districts will undergo their recruitment exercise from Kitgum district headquarters on August 14th while those from Pader and Agago districts will undergo their exercise on August 15th from Pader district headquarters.
