A37 year old man from Adel ward in Minakulu Town Council, Oyam district is in police custody on allegations of torturing his 4year old child to death.
Olwii Tony was arrested on Sunday following the incident at around 6:00am.
The suspect allegedly tortured his child to death, accusing him of defecating on the bed.
After realizing the child is dead, Olwii handed himself to Police at Minakulu Police Post.
Olwii who had divorced his wife sometimes back, had been living with the child alone.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Police Spokesperson for North Kyoga, confirmed the incident saying a case of murder by torture has been registered against the suspect.
According to the Police Annual Crime Report 2024/2025, North Kyoga registered 263 cases of homicides.
