The 2nd edition of the World Embrace Secondary School Basketball League has officially tipped off, on Saturday February 28th , delivering thrilling action across both boys’ and girls’ competitions.
The first games were played from Gulu Community Park in Gulu city, With Gulu High School showing impressive performances in both boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the boys’ matches, P.P Newton beat Pece S.S 45-20, Restore Leadership defeated Favour High 37-18, and defending champions, St. Joseph’s College Layibi trashed first Runner up, Hope Senior School 81-25.
The closest contest saw Gulu High School narrowly edge past Don Bosco S.S in a nail-biting finish, 54-53, signaling a strong start for the Gulu side.
The girls’ fixtures, Gulu High led the charge with a dominant 64-3 victory over Pece S.S, while Don Bosco School staged an upset against Restore Leadership, winning 21-14.
Other notable results saw st. John Paul II College beat Ocer Campion 33-18, P.P Newton beat Favour High 36-19, and defending champion Sacred Heart posted a commanding 68-22 win against first runner up Hope Senior School.
