The Federation of Uganda Football Associations, FUFA, has unveiled a UGX 11.5 billion to national teams program as Uganda prepares for a series of international football engagements over the next four months.
FUFA in a statement states the program will see seven national team camps conducted within 112 days, starting August 24th, 2026, with the aim of providing adequate preparation time for Uganda’s teams ahead of major qualifiers and tournaments.
The first camp will involve the Uganda Hippos, who will be in Tanzania from August 24th to September 30th for the AFCON U20 Qualifiers.
The Uganda Cubs will then enter camp in Rwanda from September 7th to October 25th for the AFCON U17 Qualifiers, before returning for another engagement in Qatar from October 22nd to December 13th for the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The Uganda Cranes senior men’s team will hold camps in Tunisia and Uganda from September 21st to October 6th ahead of the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers, and will later return to camp in Uganda and Botswana from November 9th to 17th for another round of qualifiers.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Rhinos, the U15 boys national team, will prepare in Azerbaijan from October 1st to 31st for the FIFA U15 World Cup.
The Crested Cranes, Uganda’s senior women’s team, will also be engaged, with a camp in Uganda and Zambia from October 5th to 13th as they prepare for the 2028 Olympic Qualifiers.
FUFA states that the UGX 11.5 billion investment will cater for training, travel, accommodation, and other logistical requirements to ensure all national teams are well prepared for international competition.
The federation says the busy schedule reflects its commitment to strengthening both men’s and women’s football across all levels
