Police in Nwoya District have recovered another firearm, marking the third such discovery in just one month.
The latest recovery was made on April 19, 2025, in Pakiya Village, Lii Sub-county.
According to the Nwoya District Police Commander, Robert Magombe, the gun—an A-G3 NATO rifle with 8 rounds of ammunition—was found buried in a garden by a local farmer, who promptly reported the discovery to the authorities.
This makes the third gun recovered in the district within a month including an earlier recovery in Koch Goma Town Council on March 20, 2025, and another in Ceke Village, Lii Sub-county on April 9, 2025.
Magombe noted that the weapon was likely hidden during the height of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency in northern Uganda.
