The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential candidate, General Mugisha Muntu, has reaffirmed his commitment to building a new Uganda founded on the pillars of education, health, and agriculture, which he described as the engines of sustainable national development.
Addressing journalists on Thursday November, 6, 2025 at the Northern Uganda Media Club (NUMEC) Office in Gulu City, General Muntu said that if elected president, his government would focus on practical and people-centered policies aimed at empowering communities, reducing poverty, and restoring integrity in public service.
General Muntu, a former army commander, told the media that Uganda’s transformation must begin with a strong education system emphasizing that education is the foundation upon which a nation’s progress and prosperity depend.
On health, General Muntu expressed concern over the deteriorating state of hospitals and health centers across the country and promised that an ANT-led government would strengthen the public health system by improving medical facilities, ensuring the steady supply of essential medicines, and enhancing the welfare of health workers.
Turning to agriculture, which he referred to as the backbone of Uganda’s economy, General Muntu underscored the need to invest in modern farming practices, agro-processing industries, and better market access for farmers.
General Muntu is currently touring the northern region, where he is holding meetings with community members, as part of his campaign trail ahead of the upcoming general elections.
