Engineers have completed the installation of the expansion joints at Ayago Bridge along the Karuma-Pakwach Highway.
The installation of the expansion joint was concluded on April 10, 2025, a sign that the road will soon be ready for fully reopening to all traffic once again.
This comes a week after engineers announced the completion of the installation of the expansion joint on Karumah Bridge.
In March 2025, the government announced a three-week closure of Karuma Bridge to facilitate ongoing repair works, including those on the Ayago Bridge at Anaka sub county along Karumah-Pakwach Highway.
According to Tony Awany, the Nwoya County Member of Parliament who is also the vice chairperson physical infrastructure of the parliamentary committee, both bridges are expected to be opened to all traffic on April 17, 2025.
