At least 967 patients died from St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor in Gulu City in the 2022/2023 financial year after seeking for medical care at the facility.
HIV, Cancers and TB-related complications were among the leading cause death among patients admitted at the hospital.
Statistics by the hospital indicates that nearly 80 percent of the patients who died from the facility were referred there while in critical condition.
Despite the fact that over 960 died in the last 12 months from the private hospital, there was a declined in the number of fatalities by 8.7 percent.
In the previous year (2021/2022), 1,062 patients died from Lacor Hospital.
