NRM Party Extends Member Registration Exercise

Richard Todwong, NRM Secretary General

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party has extended by two days member registration exercise.

This follows the low turn-up of people, especially in northern Uganda, during the five days registration exercise which ended on Sunday.

The two days extension commenced this morning (Monday) and ends to tomorrow (Tuesday).

The registration exercise is being done ahead of the planned election of party leaders in preparation for the 2026 general elections.

The update will enable NRM to know the exact number of voters they have, so they are in position to mobilize for more support in areas where it is lacking.

Emmanuel Ddombo, the Party Spokesperson, has blamed the low turn up party members on agriculture activities since most farmers are now engage in preparing their gardens for first season planting and hot weather rocking most parts of the country.

Since February to date the country has been experiencing hot weather with high temperatures. The Uganda Meteorological Authority says above average temperatures being experienced are always evident during the month of Feb as rainy season nears. The weather body however said the high temperature are not heat waves.
