Nwoya Suspends Foundation Bodies From Alelelele Primary School

Paminyai SUb County.

Nwoya District Council has suspended foundation bodies from carrying out any activities at Alelelele Primary School in Paminyai Sub County in an effort to bring calm to the school which has been a center of conflict for Catholic and the Anglican Church denominations.

The district council meeting held on March 26, 2024 resolved that the two foundation bodies step aside from Alelelele, according to Holly Moses Ojok, the Nwoya District Vice Chairman who also doubles as the area councilor five for Paminyai sub-county where the school is situated.

Alelelele Primary School which is a government aided primary school, was established in 1954, with structures built by both religious denominations.

The two foundations have continued to hold their Sunday services in the school’s classrooms.

In January 2023, the matter between the two parties was forwarded to the then Chief Administrative Officer in an effort to resolve it and bring it to a conclusion.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the foundation bodies would submit an authentic document proving the true ownership of the school to the district.

However, Mega FM understands that none has produced any document to date.
