Onduparaka FC Head Coach Geoffrey Akena has resigned from his position, just two months after his appointment.
Akena announced his resignation on Tuesday, saying it has been prompted by circumstances beyond his control and personal reasons requiring his attention.
In a resignation letter addressed to the club chairman, management, players and supporters, Akena described the decision as difficult but necessary.
He thanked the club management for the opportunity and trust, as well as the players, technical team and supporters for their commitment and support.
Akena was appointed in Mid August, 2026, on a one-year renewable contract ahead of the 2026/27 FUFA Big League season with the club.
The CAF B-licensed coach has previously managed Gulu United, Calvary FC, Adjumani Town Council and Nebbi Central FC.
He also guided Acholi Province to the 2019 FUFA Drum title and was named the tournament’s Best Coach.
Onduparaka FC is yet to issue an official statement on Akena’s resignation.
