Pajule Lions Football Club, champions of the 2025/2026 Northern Regional League from Pader District, have missed out on promotion to the FUFA Big League after a defeat in the play-offs.
The Lions went into the 2nd leg of the match with a 1-0 win got from home but failed to keep up the scoreline
The Pader side lost 2-0 to Pakwach Young Stars in the 2nd leg played on Saturday June 20th at Luo Grounds, Nebbi. The result saw Pakwach Young Stars win 2-1 on aggregate, ending Pajule Lions’ hopes of reaching the FUFA Big League for the 2026/27 season.
The FUFA Big League Promotion Play-Off 2nd leg also produced other results. Buwambo United beat Black Star 4-2 to qualify 5-3 on aggregate, MYDA FC drew 0-0 with Amus FC, but Amus progressed 2-1 on aggregate and Booma FC and Mutolere SC played to a 0-0 draw, with Mutolere going through 1-0 on aggregate.
FUFA has confirmed that Buwambo United, Amus FC, Mutolere SC and Pakwach Young Stars have all qualified for the 2026/27 FUFA Big League Season.
For Pajule Lions, it’s back to the drawing board as they aim to return stronger next season to defend their title in the regional football.
