Pajule Lions have exited the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after losing 0-6 to defending champions Vipers at St. Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The regional side faced a tough challenge from the defending champions during the round of 32 encounter under floodlights.
Pajule’s frustrations began as early as the 16th minute when their striker Rwotomiya Nathan was brought down in the opposition’s penalty area, denying him a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
However, the referee did not award a penalty, dealing an early blow to their hopes in the tournament before they went on to concede five more goals.
Vipers join already qualified clubs to the round of 16 alongside Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Kitara.
Meanwhile, the Pader district side will now shift focus to the regional league, where they currently lead the standings with 29 points.
