Gulu District Covid-19 Task Force surveillance team has been reactivated following the re-emergency of Covid-19 in Gulu city.
On Monday, three patients tested positive for the deadly virus following a random screening of patients at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after receiving test kits from the Ministry of Health. The victims, all female including a student, are currently undergoing Home Based Care Treatment under close monitoring by the Covid-19 Response Team.
Dr. Paska Apiyo, the in-charge of Gulu Regional Referral Hospital Covid-19 Unit, confirmed the report, saying all the three are in stable condition.
According to reports by the Ministry of Health, Uganda has registered 172,149 cases of Covid-19 with 3,632 deaths and 100,431 people to have recovered from the various diseases since 2020.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a communicable respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that causes illness in humans.
