Police in the North Kyoga Region (Lango sub region) are increasingly relying on sports as a tool of fighting crimes.
The force has partnered with corporate bodies to promote positive mind change in the community.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson said through cooperate games, police have been able to engage the community on how to reduce crimes in the Lango sub region.
SP Okema revealed that the sports activities are being organized every second week of the month.
He noted that sports have offered an ideal opportunity to promote community policing.
He also said members of the community sometimes tip their intelligence officers on crimes being committed within the community.
