Prime Minister Orders RDCS to Whip Lazy Extension Workers

Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda, has ordered leaders in the greater Northern Uganda to wake up and start whipping extension workers who are sleeping on their jobs in order to successfully implement government programs.

Nabbanja who was presiding over the homing of Dr Kenneth Omona, the Minister of State for Northern Uganda and Rehabilitation, said the formerly war ravaged region needs concerted efforts in order to deliver the people from abject poverty.

A recent report by Multi-dimensional Poverty Index 2022, Acholi sub-region has been ranked as the sub-region with the second highest number of poor people in the country.

According to the report, 63.3 percent of people in Acholi sub are poor while the poverty rate in the region reduced just by 0.7 percent in the last one year.
