Gulu High School has taken another step in improving its infrastructure with the commissioning of a modern school gate worth UGX 100 million.
The project was constructed through a partnership between the Gulu High School Old Girls and Boys Association and the Suubi Foundation.
Okwi Isaac Odiya, the Director of Planning and Development at the Gulu High School Old Girls and Boys Association, said the newly commissioned gate is a symbol of unity, pride, and the enduring commitment of the school’s alumni to give back to the institution that shaped their lives.
Lieutenant General Charles Otema Awany, the outgoing Commander of the UPDF Reserve Forces, who was represented at the commissioning ceremony by Colonel Isaac Ojwiyo, commended the leadership of the Gulu High School Old Girls and Boys Association, saying the project demonstrates the power of collective action in transforming educational institutions and preserving the school’s legacy for future generations.
Phillips Nduga, the Founder of the Suubi Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting educational institutions through strategic infrastructure development and partnerships with communities and alumni associations to improve learning conditions.
Nagudi Beatrice, the Head Teacher of Gulu High School, welcomed the project and thanked the alumni and the Suubi Foundation for their generosity and dedication to the school’s development.
