UPDF Kills 10 Suspected Armed Karamojong Warriors

At least 10 suspected Karamojong cattle rustlers have been killed by the Uganda People’s Defense Force “UPDF” in East Acholi in a period of two weeks according to the security report.

The latest incident was registered on Monday night after the UPDF soldiers gunned down a suspected Karamojong cattle rustler from Akilok village in Kiteny Sub County, Kitgum district.

The deceased was among the rustlers that raided 35 head of goats from the village.

Captain Ibrahim Kasule Sekitto, the UPDF Fifth division Infantry public information officer confirmed the report saying the UPDF are on standby to combat any form of community attack or raid.

According to Captain Kasule, the UPDF managed to recover 28 heads of goats raided from Alilok village and an AK 47 gun during the Monday night encounter.

East Acholi sub Region have been grappling with rampant cattle theft and violent incidents that have led to the death of over 50 locals and security personnel in the hands of suspected armed Karamojong warriors.
