Reverend Sister Dr. Mary Grace Akiror, the Deputy Head of the RDC Secretariat and Anti-Corruption Unit in the Office of the President, has criticized Lamwo District local government leaders over what she described as poor maintenance of the district headquarters and government infrastructure.

During a monitoring visit to Lamwo District on Wednesday, the State House team was left in shock by the condition of the district headquarters, which had overgrown vegetation and deteriorating infrastructure, including the administration block, Lamwo Resource Centre, and the Engineering Department offices.

Speaking to the leaders, Dr Akiror expressed dissatisfaction with the Lamwo District leadership accusing them for neglecting the government facilities and the surrounding environment.

According to Akiror, the state of the district headquarters gave her the impression of an abandoned institution and reflects weak leadership and poor supervision of public assets, a sign of mismanagement of government resources and negligence in the execution of official duties.

Akiror urged the district leaders to take immediate action and ensure that government facilities are properly maintained.

In response, Chuna Moses Kapalon, the Chief Administrative Officer, apologized to the State House team and pledged that his office will put the renovation and maintenance of the district head quarters at the fore front of his agender.
