The International Crimes Division in Kampala has sentenced four people to serve eight years in jail for plotting to kill former Inspector General of Police Edward Kale Kayihura and Namayingo District Police Commander Major Francis Okumu.
They are Okuku Sadam Umalu, Osinya Colline, Joseph Ojambo, and Lwanga Abudala.
They were sentenced on Friday by Justice Dr. Andrew Bashaija after finding them guilty of theft and two counts of conspiracy to murder.
The group was convicted and sentenced following a plea bargain agreement between the accused persons and Chief State Attorney Joseph Kyomuhendo.
The Judge endorsed their agreement and sentenced the accused persons to eight years on each count to run concurrently.
