Theophilus Tibihika, the Lira City Town Clerk, died Monday morning in a road crash in the areas of Barajet village along the Lira-Aduku road in Kole district.
The deceased was driving vehicle Reg. No UAM 450V when it lost control and overturned several times killing him instantly at around 2am.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson, confirmed the fatal road crash saying Tibihika was driving himself when the vehicle overturned.
His body has been taken to Lira Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem.
Tibihika joined Lira City Council as the Town Clerk in June 2022 from Fort Portal City.
According to the police crime report 2023, North Kyoga registered 645 cases of road crashes with 162 fatal, 374 serious and 109 minor crashes.
