Lira LC1 Chairperson Killed By Wife, Mob Kills Her In Revenge

A local council one chairperson of Akaidebe village in Aromo Sub County, Lira district has been killed by his wife who was in turn lynched by an angry mob.

The deceased chairperson is Odongo Robert, 54, while his wife is Susan Akidi, 37.

According to reports, Odongo’s unidentified daughter went to her father’s house at around 8:00am after he failed to answer her calls only to find her step mother, Akidi had killed him and put his body in a sack.

She made an alarm which attracted local residents while Akidi fled to Aromo Police post for safety.

Okello Sam, a local resident told Mega Fm that an angry mob stormed the police post at 1:00pm and beat Akidi to death.

Okello said the police at Lira Central Police Station later arrived and took both bodies away.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police spokesperson confirmed the incident but said he was yet to be briefed by officers on the ground.
