Cliff Atare, the Pader District Democratic Party (DP) Youth Leader has been released on police bond after spending 10 day in a police cell on allegations of shooting and injuring a local businessman.
Atare was arrested on November 19, 2023, hours after unknown masked gunmen donning uniforms similar to that of the UPDF shot and severely injured one, Bony Moro, a motorcycle parts dealer in Lagwai Zone ‘A’ Cell, in Pader Town Council.
He was later detained at Pader Central Police Station for over a week without being produced in court.
Simon Opoka, the DP Deputy National Chairman welcomed the release of his party member, saying he is confident that police investigation will absolve Atare from any wrongdoing.
However, Police were yet to comment on the release of the leader of the opposition party youth wing.
