National Roads Authority (UNRA) has, for the second time in less than three years, started patching multiple potholes along the Gulu-Atiak-Nimule highway.

The 106Km great north motorway that stretches from Gulu City through Pabbo-Atiak to Elegu Town Council at the Uganda-South Sudan border in Amuru District has several huge potholes that had become deadly to the lives of road users.

According to reports, more than 20 fatalities have been recorded with over 100 trucks and small vehicles overturning as a direct result of the multiple potholes.

Henry Kumakech, the UNRA Gulu Station Manager, told Mega Fm works have commenced this week and is expected to be completed by the end of June.
