A middle aged man has been hospitalized after being gored by an elephant in Ocholo- Pechor Village, Ogwete Sub-County, in Otuke District.
Sam Ebele suffered a broken right arm after the beast attacked him. According to reports, Ebele had climbed a tree to escape a herd of elephants that invaded his village.
However, one of the elephants broke the tree branch where he was hiding. The wildlife animal later attacked him. He is currently receiving treatment at Kidepo Hospital.
The case has been registered at Otuke Central Police Station under General Inquiry File number 10/2024.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Region Spokesperson confirmed the report, saying investigation into the matter is ongoing.
